Colin Vickers

Legal Director

Colin is a Legal Director within our litigation team. Qualifying as a solicitor in 2007, he joined Mann Roberts in early 2023 after holding senior positions at DWF Law LLP for over 12 years.

Biography

He has extensive expertise acting for large businesses and insurance companies, specialising in investigating and defending claims that are complex, high value and/or fraudulent in nature.

This work involved detailed investigation into indemnity, policy coverage, data, intelligence and leading clients through litigation, often to trial. Throughout his career, Colin has delivered many significant successes for his clients, including some which have been featured in the media.

Since joining Mann Roberts, Colin has focused his extensive litigation experience on the business disputes and commercial litigation aspects of the firm’s work, applying his attention to detail and determined approach to getting the best possible result for his clients. He now regularly advises on shareholder and director disputes, shareholders agreements, construction disputes, professional negligence, personal guarantees, insolvency, defamation and takes a specific interest in agricultural disputes.

He believes that in addition to ‘knowing your law’, it’s absolutely critical for clients to see their lawyer as an ally, not just a legal expert. It’s often overlooked that people need lawyers in difficult, sometimes desperate situations and Colin believes empathy can be as important as legal knowledge when representing clients.

As a proud father of two young children, Colin enjoys life as a family man and making his family happy and proud is his biggest motivation. His interests include being a season ticket holder at Everton Football Club, relying as much on his match day rituals to make match day enjoyable, as the on-field activity at Goodison Park. He is enjoying his recent boxing career, and remains undefeated, with a record of 1 win 0 losses since October 2022.

Except for 4 years as a law student at The University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and then in Chester, Colin is very proud of his Liverpudlian roots having spent his whole life living in Liverpool. An avid fan of Laurel and Hardy, he has been a member of their fan club since childhood. He also maintains an interest in maps, national flags and geo-political history.
